Financial Planning Philippines (FPP) is a blog that aims to spread financial awareness to Filipinos worldwide by sharing financial news, updates, money articles, actual investment experience, personal finance and anything about money.
Humble Beginning
FPP started in April 2008. At first, it was actually named All About Financial Planning. I realized it was too long so I changed it to Financial Planning Philippines – still long, but more catchy I guess. As an IT graduate – a webmaster / web manager at that time, I simply created the site to try wordpress as a blogging platform, nothing more.
After attending some paid seminars by Bo Sanchez, I felt the need of sharing the knowledge to my friends and relatives. It’s actually my outlet, my storage of financial knowledge. Later, I saw the opportunity to earn from advertisements. But due to the fact that not many people look for financial knowledge, the earnings wasn’t really that attractive since you need a bucketful of readers and visitors.

But that didn’t stop me from sharing. I must admit, I wasn’t really of the writer type. For sure, a lot of you noticed a lot of grammatical errors in the articles I wrote. But then again, what the heck. At the back of my head, let me do this to practice my writing skills. Probably I’m just pretty lucky that most of the readers are generous enough not to comment on those. 😀
The Break
Around July or August 2008, I got an invitation from 2 leading insurance companies in the Philippines to be part of them. I attended both career orientation seminar and immediately welcomed the idea. Though it’s more of a sideline thing at that time. True enough, I got more exposure, was able to attend to financial seminars for FREE and at the same time get rewarded for the efforts I do.
In 2011, a personal finance TV show in GMANews TV was born – Pesos and Sense. Being an avid fan of the ideas shared on the show, I was one of the more visible character in their FB page answering some of the questions. Call it luck or what, I was invited to appear on their show.

Back then, I had the slightest idea that this will be my passion in life – talking to people, educating them on one of the most taken for granted aspect of any one’s life. And that is the Financial Aspect. Before, I was full time on my IT job and part time being a Financial Advisor. But not, it was reversed. I’m now a Full Time Financial Advisor and a part time IT guy.
Present Time
Today, I lead a group of financial advisors with the same advocacy – to spread financial awareness to all Filipinos in all walks of life. Together, we conduct financial planning seminars around the Metro be it in a corporate setup, big organized group, small group table setup even one on one discussion.
