Early gift from Sun Cellular – FREE Facebook on your mobile phone. According to an info released by Technistock, you can now enjoy Facebook for FREE on your mobile phone. I’d love to try this since I’m a Sun subscriber (not to mention own some DGTL shares), however I can’t. My phone is kinda low tech, that’s why. Please try and hit comment how’s your experience with it. Is it good? Maybe I need to make a phone upgrade. Here’s the complete article.
Sun Cellular subscribers can now connect with their friends and family on Facebook for free using their handsets. Sun Cellular’s Facebook Zero, a light version of Facebook for mobile phones, allows users to check their status, update their news feed, and comment without shelling out a single peso, thus the name “Zero”. “Facebook offered the FB for free on mobile phones to all mobile operators worldwide. Knowing how popular Facebook is with its subscribers, Sun Cellular saw this as opportunity to extend value-added services to its users and signed up,” Sun Cellular vice-president for postpaid and new business Ricky Pena said. Sun Cellular is the only mobile operator in the Philippines to tie up with Facebook and offer this mobile service for free.
Facebook Zero is a light service allowing users to check their status, read and update news feeds from friends, and post comments for free. Charges will only apply when users access external links and photos. All Sun Cellular subscribers with GRPS-capable handsets can start using Facebook Zero. Once a cellphone is activated, users only need to go to wap.suncellular.com.ph and click on “Free Facebook”. Facebook Zero lets Sun Cellular users maximize their cellphone experience by connecting to friends and family with FB online. Pena adds: “All Sun subscribers can now join the Facebook bandwagon and catch up with the latest news feeds, comments and updates. The Free Facebook service for all Sun users attests to the robust network capability of Sun Cellular.
This value is unmatched by any other network in the Philippines.” The fast growing mobile telecommunications arm of the Gokongwei Group also offers mobile Internet plans for more affordable access. Subscribers under Plan 350, 450, 600 or under Sun Group Plans can get mobile Internet add-on plans at rates lower than its competitors. Sun also offers iPlan 149 for 20 hours a month, iPlan 399 for 60 hours and iPlan 649 for unlimited monthly Internet usage.
